I became a kidnapper to make money for Sallah – Suspect

The Niger Police force has captured two suspected kidnappers threatening the general population of Sabon Mariga in Rafi Local Government Area of the state.

Operatives, following up on trouble calls, grabbed the marauders while they were requesting that residet to pay N2.5m to a bank account or risk being captured.

The suspects, Mohammed Kwairi, 23, and Emmanuel Idi, 21, were captured by police forces connected to Kagara division.

Speaking, Kwairi said he joined the kidnap group to profit for the Sallah festivity.

“I was searching for cash to purchase things for the sallah; I never realized that police officers will capture me.

“My folks were angry to the point that they declined to visit me in the cell. Truly, I have frustrated them and I ask that they would pardon me,” he included.
